Members of the Elk City Commission met Thursday evening to go over applications for the position of city manager.
The commission gaveled in shortly after 5:30 p.m. and immediately convened into an executive session, which is held privately in a conference room in City Hall. Public bodies can discuss personnel matters in these private meetings.
After about an hour and a half, the commissioners returned to the chamber and adjourned without taking any action.
The list of applicants had been narrowed down to 12 from 32 before the commission met.
Interim City Manager Eddie Holland took the post in August when Gary Dumas was fired. Holland, who served as police chief before being appointed to his current position, has not applied to take over the permanent city manager spot.
The city has hired Strategic Government Resource, an executive search firm, to help find and decide on applicants.
The next scheduled meeting of the Elk City Commission is March 5 at 7 p.m.
