Current subscribers rewarded with smooth transition
As a benefit to current subscribers, the Daily Elk Citian will immediately convert existing weekly subscriptions to its new daily format with no additional payment required.
Those subscribers will now receive the daily paper at no extra cost until the end of their original subscription term.
A SPECIAL THANKS
Publishers Derek and Holli Manning said the subscription conversion plan was a way to show their gratitude to the newspaper's loyal readership. "We are very appreciative of the readers who have been so supportive of this publication for the past eight years. One small way to show that appreciation was to make the conversion to the daily publication as easy as possible for those who were already subscribed to the weekly paper," Derek Manning said.
NEW SUBSCRIBERS
For those wishing to begin a new subscription to the Daily Elk Citian, the rate for carrier delivery is $58 per year. The annual cost to receive a daily copy in the mail is $70.
Readers may call 225-9400 and subscribe over the phone, or they may use the convenient form on page 10 of this issue.
Online subscriptions will be available at a reduced rate to newspaper subscribers. The online rate schedule will be announced later this month.
DESIGN GUIDE
The conversion to a daily publication meant months of planning and preparation concerning every aspect of the newspaper's production, including deadlines, printing, news coverage and the paper's visual appearance.
Wednesday's issue of the Daily Elk Citian will feature a guide to the new paper, its layout and design and what readers may expect from their new daily paper.
The story will also feature an interview with newspaper design expert Ed Henninger who helped develop the new look and format for the paper.
