OKLAHOMA CITY — It will be an exceptionally windy day in the Oklahoma panhandle.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Cimarron County and a wind advisory for Beaver and Texas counties until 6 p.m. Saturday.
The weather service says north to northwest winds are expected to range from 30 mph to 45 mph and have gusts approaching 60 mph in Cimarron County. Forecasters say winds of 40 mph with gusts of 58 mph or greater can cause property damage.
In Beaver and Texas counties, northerly winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts around 55 mph are expected.
The weather service says the culprit is a cold front that is on track to pass through the region on Saturday. Temperatures are expected to reach the 40s and 50s.
